Outreach Ministry: serving our neighbors in need

from Jackie Fusco, Outreach director

“We are in need of gently worn blankets, gloves and coats for our homeless population. Most are experiencing hypothermia and frostbite. Items can be dropped off in the shopping carts that are located in the foyer of the parish offices.”

I have made a monthly contribution to Outreach for years. Now that it is closed for 6 months do I divert this money to Catholic Charities or Neighbor for Neighbor to aid families in serious financial trouble? Please confirm this is the proper response. Dal Tobin

You may support any charity you wish, but you may want to consider continuing to support Outreach during this transition.

The hope is to have Outreach Ministry established and operating in its new building this fall. Meanwhile, Outreach will keep operating its mobile projects such as the downtown water cooling stations. It will continue to support several other local ministries. I know they would appreciate your continued support.

Does this mean the food pantry will also be closed until further notice?

Yes, Outreach donated all their food to other charities. Give Catholic Charities a call. They should be able to help.
