Building Update: Final Design phase is progressing

by Matt Bendel, parish owner’s representative

The project team is continuing to make good progress through the final design phase.  See below for a few of the many activities that have been, and are continuing to take place:

  1. The future Community Center kitchen plan and equipment selection has been completed and is ready for the initial Health Department review for permitting.  Thanks to parishioners Michael Fusco, Elizabeth Nutt, and Diane Erbacher for their significant contribution to the planning, selection, and overall design of the kitchen.
  2. Initial/preliminary estimates for the future Choir Room and Outreach Center have been received and are currently being reviewed.
  3. The project team is currently working with local utility companies to schedule the relocation of the existing utilities that are currently located within the future Community Center building footprint.
  4. The Security and Access Control design will be completed by the end of the week.
  5. The Low Voltage and A/V design is ongoing and will be wrapping up before the end of the year.
  6. The project team is proactively reviewing various options that may reduce unnecessary or exorbitant costs as well as considering common sense cost savings measures while not compromising quality or campaign priorities.
