The Home Improvement Ministry at the Church of Saint Mary is a men’s ministry dedicated to helping those in need with minor home repairs and maintenance. This ministry provides assistance to Saint Mary parishioners who are unable to perform necessary maintenance or repairs themselves. Whether it’s a leaky faucet, a light bulb that needs changing, or a shrub that needs trimming, the Home Improvement Ministry offers hands-on support to ease burdens for our fellow parishioners.
Who We Serve
This ministry is available to all members of the Church of Saint Mary community, prioritizing those who may be elderly, disabled, single parents, or facing financial difficulty. We also serve individuals who may be experiencing temporary hardship or health issues that prevent them from maintaining their homes. We are certain weekends throughout the year for Home Improvement Ministry days, but we also help on an emergency basis.
We understand that a home is more than just a shelter; it’s a place of peace and security. Our goal is to ensure that all of our parishioners feel safe and comfortable in their living space, no matter their circumstances.
How to Request Help
If you or someone you know is in need of assistance, please reach out and fill out the form by clicking on this link: https://forms.gle/xLuYYhfjKun9caaQ6
The form can be filled out to ask for help for the Home Improvement Ministry Days and also for emergency situations.
Volunteer Opportunities
The Home Improvement Ministry is a men’s volunteer ministry. No matter your skill level, there is a place for you to serve. Many of our projects involve yard work. However, some projects require a bit more maintenance knowledge. If you have skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general home maintenance we would love for you to join us.
Volunteers work in teams. Community and fellowship is an important part of this ministry. Men have an opportunity to grow in friendship and faith as they work side by side serving our parishioners in need. To volunteer, please fill out the appropriate forms on our Resources and email Sharron Hanisch at shanisch@churchofsaintmary.com.
