Our Path Forward

Our Misson

Filled with gratitude, we imitate Mary’s ‘yes.’

Just as Mary gave her wholehearted “yes” to God’s call, we too seek to respond with faith and generosity in all that we do. Our mission is to live out that same spirit of trust and surrender—serving God and one another with joyful hearts.

Our Vision

Formed in the heart of Mary, we glorify the Lord by inviting all to grow in holiness, cultivating a love of God and our neighbor through faith, education, and service.

This paints a picture of who we are called to become as a parish community: a people rooted in prayer, radiating love, and working together to form disciples who bring Christ to the world.

Our Core Values

1. Prayer – “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.”  (Luke 1: 46-47)

We raise our minds and hearts to God in thanksgiving, adoration, and praise—both personally and as a parish family. Prayer anchors everything we do.

2. Home – “Behold, your mother.” … “Behold, your son.” (John 19:26–27)

Our parish is a home—a place of peace, belonging, and comfort that reflects our ultimate home in heaven. Here, we grow together in faith and community.

3. Invitation – “Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you.” (Luke 1:28)

We extend an open invitation to all to encounter Jesus Christ and share in the beauty of our Catholic faith. Everyone has a place here.

From Our Pastor, Fr. Stuart Crevcoure:

Our strategic plan for the parish, rooted in our special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and her virtues, is summed up in three goals:

Seek.  Show up.  Share.

While the strategic plan is the result of our visioning team’s consideration of parishioner input and the process of much prayer, it is not the end product.  The end product will be how we implement this plan in a way that breathes the new life of the Spirit into every aspect of our parish life and mission.  It is an exciting time to be part of the Church of Saint Mary, and I feel blessed to be walking this journey with you!

1. Seek a Deeper Relationship with Jesus Christ.

To inspire a love of the sacraments so that, living a sacramental life, one continually deepens his or her relationship with Jesus Christ.

Goals:

1. Increase Sunday Mass attendance from 20% of registered parishioners to 40-50% of registered parishioners by December 2028.

2. Annually offer  4 parishwide reconciliation services to increase the frequency one receives the Sacrament of Reconciliation at least once a year from 38% to 50-60% by the next time we take the Disciple Makers Index Survey (~2027).

Examples of what can you do?

Attend Eucharistic Adoration regularly (weekly or monthly) and signing up for an hour

• Go to Confession monthly; make it part of your spiritual rhythm, not just for Lent.

• Arrive at Mass a few minutes early to pray in silence and stay a few minutes afterward in thanksgiving.

• Read a spiritual book on the Eucharist or on Confession.

2. Create a process to form lay leaders for the flourishing and longevity of parish ministries.

3. For Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, increase from 100 children involved from the parish to 150 by December 2027.

Examples of what can you do?

Attend a parish retreat (ACTS, Father’s House, OAR).

• Sign up to learn more about your faith through Emmaus, the Sunday Sessions, or adult formation classes.

3. Share the Gospel.

To grow our parish by spreading the Gospel so those outside of our community can know Jesus Christ.

Goals:

1. Form and equip  an  evangelization team of 15-20 parishioners by July 2027.

2. Starting in May 2027, We will have 50 people who receive Sacraments of Initiation through OCIA/OCIC every year for the next five years.

Examples of what can you do?

• Invite someone to Mass, a parish event, or a service opportunity.

• Practice radical hospitality: Introduce yourself to a stranger at Church, greet newcomers, smile, and make others feel seen in our community.

• Use social media or word of mouth to share parish events, faith reflections, and homilies.

• Pray daily for someone you know who has fallen away from the faith.
