Sips & Stories – Dustin Samford
All parishioners 21+ are invited to connect with and be inspired by a parishioner sharing his or her story of faith. Our August speaker is Coordinator of Youth Ministry, Dustin Samford. The evening will include a special drink to sip, other refreshments, and time to social. This is rescheduled for Tuesday, August 19th.
Dustin grew up Catholic and the son of the youth coordinators at his parish, St. Mark in Pryor, OK. Throughout high school he struggled with anxiety and depression and, after being unable to reconcile a loving God with all the suffering in the world, became agnostic during his sophomore year of high school and pursued a secular lifestyle. He lived this worldly life, still struggling with anxiety and depression, for four years before reconverting at St. John Catholic Student Center in Stillwater, OK, and experienced the Lord’s merciful love multiple times over the next four years, without even noticing it. He’d go on to experience it several times more and still does to this day.
