Parishioners donate 142 portable cribs

The Church of Saint Mary is well aware that many of its newborn neighbors may not see their first birthday. Infant mortality at 61st & Peoria is the highest of any intersection in Tulsa.

Parishioners donated $6,671.16 plus thirty-two portable cribs to Emergency Infant Services. Representatives from EIS say that our cash donation will help them purchase 110 aditional portable cribs, bringing the total to an estimated 142 cribs.

This is the second year that Organizer Peggy Wollmershauser and her husband Mark collected and delivered cribs. The parish responsed with similar generosity in 2019.

Emergency Infant Services says that permanent or portable cribs reduce infant mortality by giving babies a defined place to sleep. EIS distributes formula, diapers, wipes, food, and clothing.
