Outreach Ministry plans for a big year

by Jackie Fusco

Church of Saint Mary Outreach is gearing up for an active year. While we are awaiting for our new building to break ground and covid is on the back burner, we are tackling the hard issue of homelessness.

The Church of Saint Mary campus is near on of the most poverty-stricken areas of Tulsa. We are being called to walk with our neighbors as they face adversity and homelessness. And to do that we welcome a new partnership with the “Little Lilies,” Meredith and Rebecca, to our Outreach Ministry. They have a heart for the forgotten of the flock. Their desire is to be instruments of God’s Hope, and to assist Christ in reviving the souls of His children which is at the core of their mission.

Coming in April, the Be Heard Movement, Williams Company, and Outreach Ministry are hosting a “Day of Serving our Homeless.” The day will consist of

  • mobile shower truck,
  • hot meal,
  • haircuts,
  • clothing and shoes,
  • backpack filled with survival gear for the outdoors,
  • prayer teams, and
  • fellowship.

We are excited to bring a “renewing of the spirit” to our homeless neighbors!

Stay tune for more updates.

And one last shout out to all that participated in the Saint Meinrad Day of Service! Thank you to all who came to clean and organize our church. We will be scheduling another Day of Service in the fall.
