Church Flooring Day 3: The Confirmation Mosaic

Our excellent tile workers have laid the Confirmation marble tile mosaic in the mail aisle and are beginning to surround it with gray stone tiles.

The Confirmation mosaic features a descending dove, a symbol of the Holy Spirit. Seven flames represent the seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit and the tongues of flame atop the Apostles’ heads at Pentecost

As the mosaics are installed, we are publishing explanations of the symbolism in the Sunday Bulletins and on a webpage containing an overview of the project.
