In 2005, Jason Dean was found to have a low platelet count and he received the first of many transfusions. Eventually he was diagnosed with Evan Syndrome, an autoimmune disease in which the body’s own antibodies attack its red blood cells. Chemotherapy and many blood transfusions brought his disease to a remission.
Ten years later, Jason – a father of three – was diagnosed with a rare, fast growing type of lymphoma cancer. He will likely need more blood and platelet transfusions as he tries to beat this new disease.
Our next American Red Cross Blood Drive will be November 20 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria. Please give to this very urgent need. Signups will be in the vestibule before and after Masses.
