Care Ministries

Beginning Experience ("BE")

Beginning Experience is a program for those grieving the loss of a spouse through death, separation or divorce, and who want to be renewed in mind and spirit. “BE” hosts weekend retreats three times a year for a guided, personal reflection about the parishioner’s experience of becoming divorced, separated or widowed.

Ken Dorsch, 645-1806, ken.dorsch@cox.net

Culinary Angels

Four times a year (Fall, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Spring) a group of ladies prepares and serves luncheons to our seniors in Beckerle Hall. Commitment involves a planning meeting for each luncheon and serving the day of the luncheon.

Charlotte Edmundson, 496-8665, cedmundson@cox.net

Funeral Luncheon Ministry

The Funeral Luncheon Ministry supports bereaved families through preparation and service of funeral meals by rotating teams. Opportunities include being a part of a meal-preparation team, serving as a funeral luncheon coordinating chairman, and serving as a team captain.

Homebound Visitation

Pastoral Care ministers provide the presence of the Church to those who are sick, homebound or in nursing care facilities.

Prayer Network

Dedicated parishioners pray for fellow parishioners who have made specific requests for prayer.

Maria Swatek, 748-5921, mariaswatek@cox.net

St. Gianna Sewing Guild

Guild members support bereaved parents by making burial clothing for infants who die at or shortly after birth at St. Francis and St. John’s Hospitals. Parishioners who can sew, knit or crochet may work at their own pace, as time allows. Members donate the materials and labor to create simple identical pairs of gowns, blankets, hats, burial pouches and booties as one set is given to parents in a gift box. Patterns are provided, and garments may be left unadorned or embellished, as desired.
