Angela Kmetz
Angela considers St. Mary’s Church and School her second home. She attended kindergarten through eighth grade here, along with my four other siblings. She received her First Communion here. Her parents were married here, and her grandparents are charter members!
Recent years have found her busy with God's work – two years as a Catholic missionary for FOCUS - Fellowship of Catholic University Students – on the Loras College campus in Iowa; another two years after that, as a religion teacher and basketball coach at Bishop Kelley High School here in Tulsa.
This past August, she entered the Novitiate of a religious community called ‘The Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matara’ located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. It is a missionary community with a specific goal of following the call of the late Pope John Paul II, to evangelize the culture through joy.
