It was another exciting week at the Church of Saint Mary.  On Tuesday the fire department was called after smoke was discovered in the parish office waiting room.  And they came out in force!  Four fire trucks and four police cruizers arrived in a matter of minutes.  They went up on the roof and everywhere below.  The cause: a floresant bulb in the lamp in the waiting room!

Thursday morning Bill, our bookkeeper, entered his office to find a big puddle!  Wet carpet, boxes, countertop under the window, and lots of wet papers! The water had come as a result of a break in the seam of the outside downspout, and the heavy rains on Wednesday night. 

We just wonder what kind of excitement we will have in our office next week!!
